Our panel offers a great opportunity to find out what really matters, what actually works, and how to differentiate yourself.

For the first time, The Ottawa Network will be holding an event at the new “Code Factory” facilities at 246 Queen Street, between Bank and Kent. On-street and lot parking is available after 5:30. Beer & refreshments will be available for a modest amount.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 7:30-8:30 Networking/Questions

About our panelists:

Linda MoranLinda Moran is a seasoned marketing strategist with close to 15 years of developing national and international programs in both agency and corporate environments. She has worked extensively with Web, direct marketing, advertising and other tactics using budgets big and small to help dozens of organizations meet their marketing objectives. She can address the consideration of Web 2.0 tactics from a strategic planning perspective, demystifying the concept and determining if and how to make it work.

Bob LeDrewBob LeDrew has been in the word business since 1987, when he started working as a freelance writer. Since then, he’s freelanced, worked as a print and broadcast journalist, and moved to the ‘dark side’ of public relations. Bob recently moved from client-side to working for a public relations agency for the first time. Thornley Fallis Communications is a mid-size firm in Ottawa and Toronto, and they are big believers in using social media as well as traditional forms of communication to advance organizational goals. Bob was Canada’s first PR blogger, starting his blog Flacklife in April 2003, and has been the PR columnist for the national CBC Radio program “The Business Network.” since 2000.

Alec SaundersAlec Saunders has done many things in his career, including participating in the largest consumer launch of a software product ever — the Windows 95 launch, product managing and launching the first two versions of Internet Explorer, and pioneering the use of the internet as a marketing tool. Along the way he’s made his employers hundreds of millions of dollars, and “had a blast doing it.” As CEO, co-Founder at Iotum Corporation his biggest goal today is to make iotum’s FREE Conference Call service on Facebook the dominant voice service for that social network. Alec’s blog Saunderslog.com is a top ranked on-line information source.

Peter ChildsPeter Childs is now a Social Media Strategist: a connector and communicator who sees what could be and finds ways to make it happen. He’s known an insightful marketer – especially around competitive analysis and value propositions – and can craft insights into stories that connect people to products and services. He’s had experience selling, closing the product connection at a personal level. His current interests are entrepreneurship and the role social networks play in activating and sustaining it as well as the trends and technologies that drive the dispersion of ideas through communities. As a believer that you should work for what you believe in both professionally and in your community – he organizes business networking events and volunteers in his neighbourhood.

Luc LevesqueIn 2008 Luc Levesque was a Top 40 Under 40 Award Recipient. As the Founder / General Manager at TravelPod he’s involved with every aspect of the business: Product management, marketing, SEO, recruiting, advertising, managing and retaining top talent, managing the P&L, strategy, business development and traffic growth. For over 10 years Luc built TravelPod, the worlds first travel blogging company, to a point where in 2006 Travelpod was sold to Expedia where Luc heads its Travelpod division. Luc writes at the StartUp Ottawa blog.
