Walter will talk about his experience in establishing successful consulting businesses in a post high-tech bubble environment. He’ll explore the challenges and key success factors in their formation, and in the sale of one business - including selection of the type of consulting service, establishing a network and developing a reputation, importance of a website, IPR considerations, managing third party relationships, and corporate acquisition

Walter Jager is the president of ECD Technology Ltd (previously RoHS Consulting) he started in 2004, and subsequently a founding member and the vice president of consulting services for Intertek Ageus Solutions which was named to the “Profit Hot 50” list in 2007 by Canadian Business magazine.

He has assisted numerous electronic OEMs and contract manufacturers understand the requirements of worldwide RoHS regulations and to develop compliance programs. He has worked extensively in the development of international electronics standards and is regularly invited to present on RoHS at industry workshops, webinars, and conferences. During his 25 years experience in the electronics industry, he has held a variety of positions in environmental compliance, quality and reliability engineering, strategic supply chain management, system architecture and product design.
